Polybius - submissions

We welcome unsolicited manuscripts, as well as those from a reputable agency.

An aspiring Polybius author should be promotable. With this in mind, please email us a compelling project pitch with details about yourself, your future plans, a brief synopsis, the first 50 pages ONLY (ideally as a Word or PDF attachment, double-spaced) and send to submissions@polybiusbooks.com. Include your name and book title in the subject box.

If you are submitting by post, please enclose an SAE for return of material. This should be large enough to accommodate your manuscript, and should include full postage. We're unable to accept responsibility for the loss of any scripts that are sent to us, so do keep a copy of your work.

We aim to respond within twenty working days of receipt. We don't employ readers, preferring to rely on our own judgement. When we decide that your sample is of interest, we’ll request the entire manuscript. If our enthusiasm remains undimmed, we’ll arrange to meet you to establish how best to take things forward. Be bold, be passionate, be open to feedback. This is a partnership!
