ISBN – we purchase and assign a 13-digit code to your book, essential for identification, selling and distribution. We’ll also ensure that your book is registered with Nielsen BookData. The Nielsen database, which now holds more than 13 million title records, is available to booksellers, libraries and publishers worldwide. As a result, your book will automatically be listed on Amazon.co.uk and Play.com.
Barcode creation – we generate a high-resolution barcode from your ISBN. Should your book by its very nature not require an ISBN or barcode, we’ll reflect this in our quotation.
Copyright page – we prepare this all-important page in accordance with the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, 1988. As the self-publishing author, you retain full rights to your work. Should a third party make you an offer for film rights, translation rights or republication, you’ll always be free to accept their offer unconditionally. Your book; your call.
Copy-edit and proofread – a line-by-line edit and rigorous 2-stage proofread. We seek your approval at every stage.
Typesetting – we text-style and format your manuscript using market-leading QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign software.
Cover design – a truly bespoke service by handpicked experts. We listen to your ideas, and incorporate them creatively and flexibly. No ‘one-size-fits-all’ templates. Ignis website entry – we ensure premium visibility for your book on our website. www.polybiusbooks.com has been designed using all the latest practices in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and so achieves a consistently high ranking on Google, Yahoo! and Bing.
Printing – our top-grade printers have the capacity to produce anything between 100 and 1 million books, regardless of format. We have the expertise to match your book to the perfect printer.
